World Heritage Australian Sandstone, Hobart, Tasmania

Door, Hobart, Tasmania

Hobart, Australia’a second oldest city. It was originally settled by Europeans as a site for the new Australian nation’s most ‘notorious’ criminals. It was the end of the world, as many described. Indeed, there are many areas of Tasmania that when you stand there, you literally feel as though you are at the end of the world.

As such, Hobart has many heritage sites. The quality of work used in their sandstone buildings are truly breathtaking. I could spend days just walking around the city with my head up and mouth open gazing at the quality of the workmanship, all of which, was done by hand over two hundred years ago.
