Behind the Lens

Liffey Falls, Deloraine, Tasmania
A short drive from Deloraine, Tasmania, the very popular tourist destination of Liffey Falls proved to be very rewarding.

Bridstowe Lavender Farm
Another one off the bucket list, and something my wife has been wanting to go to forever. I must say, until you have been here, you have no idea what to expect. Imagine acee after acre of rolling fields all covered with lavender and bees. The field on flowers two months of the year, but, wow, when it does, what as site.
We were so lucky to witness the lavender in full bloom. Something we will never forget

Eurobin Falls, Victoria, Australia
This could be one of the many tropical waterfalls in Australia’s far north. Instead, this image was taken in the Victorian Snowy Mountains and is fed by the melting snow caps of the Snowy Mountains.

Seven, Bridport, Tasmania
It’s almost as if this imperfection of this image, leads to its perfection. Crystal blue waters, yet cold and inhospitable, somehow suits the missing piece of this image.

The Cathedral, Victoria, Australia
Climbing mountains. Not something I can say I have done multiple times. Why? Not sure. But on this day we dined our snow shoes and climbed to the top of ‘The Cathedral’ and was inspired by the wonder of its creation.

Bird Island
Rugged, Secluded, Inhospitable, Refuge. This image for me summarises Tasmania.

Church, Hobart, Tasmania
You can almost hear the choir singing when you gaze upon this impressive monument to God.

Lights, Hobart, Australia
Just looking up, opens up amazing possibilities with photography. It seems the magic happens when you least expect it to. It seemed even the lighting on the building was there just for me.

Australian Heritage sites, Hobart, Australia
Hobart, Australia’a second oldest city. It was originally settled by Europeans as a site for the new Australian nation’s most ‘notorious’ criminals. It was the end of the world, as many described. Indeed, there are many areas of Tasmania that when you stand there, you literally feel as though you are at the end of the world.

Nature’s Painting
Pink Lake, SA. Looking back on our time in South Australia, always brings happy memories. This particular image was taken at Lake Bumbumga at Lochiel. It’s really well known for the lake monster that lurks in the shallows, but i was totally awestruck by the incredible texture and contrast of the pink salt. Looking at the image, it looks like a painting

Creation in an instant
We had a lot of storms during our stay at Nambucca Heads on the New South Wales north coast. They would roll in so quickly and hit with quite a bit of ferocity.
